Meet Samantha Davidson
I am a mother, writer, and Family and Human Services graduate from Brigham Young University-Idaho. My education focused heavily on child development, family dynamics, and community support. Because of this, I have always had a deep passion for validating and educating families through life’s unexpected challenges. However, I never expected my greatest lesson in family resilience would come from my own living room.
My journey into motherhood took an unforeseen turn. I was diagnosed with Insufficient Glandular Tissue (IGT), a physical condition that made breastfeeding exclusively nearly impossible. The grief, frustration, and steep learning curve tested my faith. Ultimately, it deepened it. Today’s society often equates a mother’s worth with her biological output. Wrestling with those feelings of inadequacy led me to a profound spiritual crossroads. It was there, in the quiet, tear-stained heartaches of the nursery, that I began the sacred process of Feeling Sufficient.
Through this blog, Feeling Sufficient, I share the raw struggles of my journey. I share the hard-won lessons and the quiet victories, too. I found immense solace in my testimony of a loving Heavenly Father. He intimately knows, strengthens, and sustains mothers in every unique circumstance. Our physical bodies may have limitations, but His grace is always limitless.
If you have ever felt like you were falling short as a parent, my hope is that Feeling Sufficient can offer a soft landing place for your heart. Within this community, we discuss the clinical realities of feeding challenges. We face the emotional weight of postpartum grief, and we celebrate the spiritual truths that anchor us.
Motherhood is beautiful, even when it looks entirely different than we imagined. You do not have to walk this road alone. Furthermore, you do not have to be perfect to be the perfect mother for your child. Welcome to Feeling Sufficient. A space dedicated to helping you discover that through Christ, you are already more than enough.
