Wishing you a Merry Christmas + Updates

Sometimes life takes us in unexpected directions. This year has unexpectedly taken twists and turns and I wasn’t able to accomplish the things I expected to. Not out of laziness, but because I was too busy living life and keeping up with what is truly important. My family.

In lieu of all the changes, I thought it would be fun to write a little update post! So without further ado, here is how the year went for me and my family.

Early on this year I tried to go back to work after being a full time mother for 17 months. To say I didn’t last very long in the workforce is a reasonable statement. I worked for a Montessori school for less than a month. A few months later, I also tried working for a daycare. That lasted a little bit longer then the Montessori school. However, it was still not as fulfilling as my time spent in motherhood.

Our family has also been on the move. We moved out of our cozy little condo, into my in-laws home for a short time. We had the goal of buying a home in early fall. However, due to some unfortunate circumstances, we ended up in a rental home this summer. We plan on keeping this rental as base camp for at least the next year until our lease is up.

Finally a month or so after we got into the rental, we found out that I am expecting! Baby #2 is on the way. I am due in early April with another boy. We are so excited to expand our family. E is excited to be a big brother. We are all excited to see how our family dynamic changes along the way.

Despite all the craziness, life has been amazing. We are all doing well. My pregnancy is as low risk as they come. My doctor even tells me if he’s worrying about any patient, it isn’t me. Which is how it was with my first. So that’s always nice. My husband is doing well in his work, and our toddler is thriving and developing as expected.

As the new year rolls around, I have a new resolve to write a little bit every day. I’m hoping to be able to get enough posts written to have a backlog for when baby arrives. There are good things to come! I promise I haven’t forgotten about this blog. I’ve just been extremely busy this year. Hopefully next year isn’t as busy. But then again, we will be going through the postpartum newborn stage again. Everyone who has been there knows how life can get away from you in the newborn stage.

With all of that, Merry Christmas, and happy new year. Know that God is good! There are good things to come, and I am excited to dive back into this little project of mine.
